Don’t mind me, I’m Just on a Journey

These ain’t bedtime stories I’m telling here. Its a real life journey. It gets messy. Its one sided. Some days its happy and some days its sad. Hell, some days I don’t even know which direction I am going.

But I’ve discovered something along the way in this journey. I have to like me. You don’t. If you like me, well that’s a bonus. If you don’t, I promise, I won’t lose any sleep over it. Some have called me selfish. If selfish is doing whats right for me than I’m ok with that label. Because I’m learning that I give and love with my whole heart. Abuse that privilege and I’ll have no problem rescinding my offer.

My journey is different then yours. I can’t say I don’t judge because I do. I try not to but it happens. But just because your journey is different ┬áthan mine, that doesn’t mean its wrong. I’ll respect your journey. I may not understand or agree with it, but I will respect it.

In the grand scheme of things, we actually don’t have a lot of time on this earth. So instead of pulling out the judgement card how about we just stop and try to relate? That bubbling over mess you see in front of you in another person? It just means there is so much more beneath the surface you don’t see. How about we try not to add to the mess? You don’t have to take on the responsibility to clean them up but you shouldn’t be responsible for adding more to it.

It may not be a pretty journey, but it is mine. So maybe we could just walk together for a while and discover something new.

Just an average ordinary woman being herself on this crazy ride we call life. I say what I mean and mean what I say. I chose to bring along 4 crazy side kicks on this journey, my 4 kids. The actual realization of my journey began after my divorce. Hindsight being what it is, I realized before my divorce I was just going through the steps. My eyes are now wide open to the path ahead of me.
